Next January 22 is the deadline to present proposals to ARCOlisboa, the new project that will take place between 26 and 29 May 2016 at the historical building of Fabrica Nacional da Cordoaria. 

We are currently concentrating our efforts on guaranteeing a quality audience for the fair. To achieve this we are collaborating with the main Portuguese institutions: Berardo Collection, Leal Rios Foundation, EDP Foundation or Serralves Museum in Porto.

To help organize and shape the public programme, we are working with Rita Sousa Tavares and Café Pessoa team, who are assisting us in identifying and establishing connections with the most prominent local agents.

The presence of active collectors will be ensured through our International Collectors Programme, formed by around 80 people, and adjusted to the size of the fair that will count with around 40 galleries. All invited collectors are suggested by the participating galleries as well as by our Collectors links team and Sofía Barroso and Julieta Rafecas. The invited collectors will be active and interested in the fair’s contents.

Parallel to the fair, we will develop a series of presentations, focused on establishing a productive dialogue between the vibrant Portuguese art scene and an international context. In order to implement this, we will be counting with the collaboration of Miguel Von Hafe Pérez who will lead the collector’s talks each between a Portuguese collector and an international collector. At the same time, directors of local institutions will hold dialogues with colleagues from different international spaces.

Connecting the fair with Lisbon’s reality is one of the starting points of a project that has taken into account the recent economic development of the city and of the second residency real estate market as a space for new opportunities for the art market.
